"You've been mostly dead all day."
-The Princess Bride

your.girl.is.hungover.
Last night (see below) was worth it. But still ugghhh. When I woke up at 1:30 pm to my alarm after going to bed at 7:30 am I was not a happy camper. Somehow I managed to get my life together enough to get in the shower and eat a breakfast of champions that consisted of a banana, coffee, and some leftover paella. Then Lian, Breanne, Hannah and I all got on the metro to head to school because we had a mandatory Madrid bus and walking tour. Fun Stuff. You know its going to be a rough one when you're wearing your sunglasses on the metro, a la me and Lian this morning. . .  I mean afternoon. Right as some of the pounding in my head and rolling in my stomach has started to subside, this guy gets on the metro.

And starts to sing with his microphone and speaker on wheels. Loudly. That is when I knew that something out there loves to see me suffer. Luckily he didn't stay in our metro car that long, if he had someone was going to get hurt.
We get to school and wait where we're supposed to wait with everyone before we get on the buses to leave. The teachers and trip advisors made the biggest deal about being on time, if you missed the bus you were marked absent, 3 absences you fail, and yet we had to sit and wait for the buses for an hour. Looking around it was very clear who had gone out the night before and hearing all the stories is the only thing that made waiting bearable. We finally got on the buses and I instantly fell asleep and slept through the whole thing. Which was good because feeling car sick and hungover is not a good combination. When the bus tour ended we had a walking tour and saw Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and other places around there. Plaza Mayor is filled with very strange people doing acts and dressed up in full fledged mickey, minnie, and tigger costumes. They also have the people who pretend to be robots, statues, or sand sculptures (thats a new one for me). Not a fan. Not a fan of them at all.

Just chillin' in front of a palace.

My host family is the bomb.com. My host mom Concha is a firecracker and a half, and she's an awesome cook. Santiago (Santi) is my host dad an he is HIGH-larious and is always cracking jokes. They understand some english, but all we really speak in is Spanish. They are two of the most entertaining people I have ever met.

the one and only CONCHA

Paella, mmmm
Concha's empanadas are the BEST
Tomorrow we head out to Toledo for our day trip. I'm going to go to bed pronto so that I can actually be a real person tomorrow.
Buenos Noches!
