Its my blog bitch! This will be your source for everything that is awesome in my life for the next 4 months. Currently I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my flight to Dallas and it still hasn't really hit me that I'll be in Spain by tomorrow morning and LIVING THERE. Thank the lord I'm done with packing because that was no fun. Packing for a trip this long was near impossible, especially with my lack of decision making abilities. I stared at two slightly different tank tops for 30 minutes before I picked one. . . . . and by picked one I clearly mean packed both. Both of my checked bags are so large they could crush someone and it's going to be real interesting when I have to wheel those bad boys around the Madrid airport. After I dropped my monstrosities of luggage off and checked in, I made my way to security, which surprisingly wasn't terrible. But I chose the short line. Never. chose. the. short. line. Because somehow, someway the person in front of you will have the mental capacity of a chipmunk. First the woman in front of me didn't take her shoes off. Or her jacket. Then she sets of the metal detector. 6 goddamn times. First it was something in her pocket, bracelet, then her rings, then her earrings, and then her anklet (yes, an anklet). And the TSA guy just kept sending her back through instead of using the wand thingamob. But the best was that on the last time when decided that it was her belly button ring and took it out. Really now? I started laughing at this point but then while I was laughing I made eye contact with her. It was awkward.
To the right you can click on the link to my map and I'll updating it with all the places I go to while I'm there. When I get to Madrid I have orientation on Monday and then our travel seminar starts Tuesday where we'll be hitting up Toledo, Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Sevilla, and Cordoba. I have trips to Paris and Oktoberfest planned and I'm also planing more trips when I get there too. Hopefully I'll pick up Spanish kinda quickly because google translate has so far been used extensively to communicate with my host family. Now I'm in the Dallas airport loving life because I have seasons of Archer, How I Met Your Mother and Always Sunny, Good Will Hunting, Dazed and Confused, Tangled, Mulan and Waynes World. And to read I have Game of Thrones, Soccernomics, Water for Elephants and the entire magazine rack from cvs. Clearly I have important things to do.
Adios Muchachos!
